A branded mailbox separates business communication from a personal address. Before creating it, confirm that your hosting plan supports email for the domain and that mail is intended to be hosted here.

Create and test

  1. Open Email Accounts and choose Create.
  2. Select the correct domain and enter the mailbox name, such as enquiries. Check spelling before saving.
  3. Set a strong unique password privately. Keep it in a trusted password manager.
  4. Choose a quota suitable for the role and available account storage. Review any supported restrictions or notification settings.
  5. Open Webmail or configure a mail client, then send a non-sensitive test to an external address and reply from it.

Plan ownership

Decide who monitors the address and what happens during absence. A forwarder and a mailbox serve different purposes; creating one does not necessarily create the other.

If messages do not arrive, check DNS, Email Routing, mailbox quota and Track Delivery. Do not keep resetting passwords to solve a routing issue. Features and limits vary by plan, and temporary cPanel domains may not support email.

When staff leave, transfer responsibility through a controlled process. Avoid deleting a mailbox until required records have been backed up or retained under your business policy.
