A full account can stop uploads, mail delivery, logging and database operations. Freeing space starts with identifying growth rather than deleting whichever folder is largest.

Investigate safely

  1. Open Disk Usage and inspect the largest directory groups.
  2. Compare website uploads, mailbox storage, logs, temporary files and backup archives.
  3. Check application-specific retention rules and whether another process still uses the files.
  4. Move a verified backup off the server before removing its local copy. Use the appropriate application interface for managed files or messages.
  5. Recheck usage and the failed service after the supported cleanup completes.

Storage is not the only limit

An account may also have a file-count or inode allowance. Thousands of small cache or session files can exhaust it without consuming much disk space. Ask support which limits apply to your plan.

Do not delete database storage files, active session directories or mailbox internals manually. Deleting a file that an application expects can cause errors that are harder to diagnose than the original quota problem.

If logs grow rapidly, investigate the repeating error instead of suppressing all logging. Put a retention policy in place and keep enough free capacity for backups and temporary operations. Request a plan review when normal business data has outgrown the allocation.
