Use Basic Mode when the site already runs the correct PHP version but needs a supported configuration change. Start with the application’s documented requirement and the hosting plan’s limits.

Make a controlled change

  1. Search for MultiPHP INI Editor and open Basic Mode.
  2. Choose the affected domain. Home Directory has broader scope; avoid it for a change intended for one website.
  3. Record existing values. Identify the setting connected to the error instead of increasing every limit.
  4. Enter the required value in the accepted format and apply it.
  5. Retry the failed task and check the effective value. Allow for handler-specific configuration caching.

Understand the boundary

INI values cannot grant more CPU, account RAM, storage or process capacity than the hosting package. A PHP memory limit is a process ceiling, not reserved RAM. Some server restrictions cannot be overridden by an account.

If a value does not change, confirm the document root and active handler. A CloudLinux Selector runtime may use its own Options screen. PHP-FPM, local overrides and CLI configuration can explain different results.

Keep display_errors off publicly. Restore experimental values that do not solve the issue. Send support the requested and effective values, without publishing a phpinfo page.
